They are constructed with wire bristles staple-set into a wood handle block, available in straight or curved handle profiles for different grip preferences and access requirements.

Available Wire Materials

• Carbon steel wire — The standard choice for heavy-duty rust removal, scale stripping, and paint removal on ferrous metals. High hardness and aggressive cutting action for fast material removal.
• Stainless steel wire — For rust removal and surface preparation on stainless steel workpieces, or where carbon contamination of the workpiece surface must be avoided. Also suitable for use in food processing and pharmaceutical environments.
• Brass wire — A softer wire option for cleaning and derusting non-ferrous metals, softer alloys, and applications where spark risk must be minimized. Also used for brass lubrication compound (pipe dope) application brushes in oil and gas applications.
• Horsehair — Soft natural bristle option for applying pipe dope, lubricants, and coatings to pipe joints and threaded connections without scratching the surface.

Handle Options

• Straight wood handle — Standard ergonomic handle for general-purpose hand wire brushing
• Curved wood handle — Angled handle for improved access to awkward surfaces, tight corners, and recessed areas

Construction

Wire bristles are staple-set into pre-drilled holes in a high-quality hardwood handle block. The number of wire strands per hole and the hole array pattern determine the brush face density, which can be customized to match specific cleaning requirements. Both single-row and multi-row brush face configurations are available.
