How much do you know about flexible strip brushes?
In the way of brush bottom/base/backing, strip brushes are made into two types - metal back strip brushes and plastic back strip brushes.
1. Metal back strip brush
Metal back strip brushes are made by filling the brush materials into a continuous metal channel, normally used brush materials for this type be synthetic fiber or metal wire.
The brush fillings are held into a metal channel by a central rod which is then in place by closing the sides of the channel and can be manufactured in galvanized iron and stainless steel that is to suit no rust applications.
In some cases, the completed brush strips are slotted into aluminum carriers when considering their installation.
1. Flexible back strip brush
Flexible back strip brushes are made by fusing high-quality brush filaments into an extruded plastic backing (nylon or polypropylene) making the filaments become one with the backing. So the brush filaments are the same material with the flexible backing.
Features and advantages of flex back strip brushes:
1. These brushes won‘t corrode as they are constructed entirely without the use of any metal parts.
2. Another advantage of a flexible backing strip brush is the flexibility of its base when installed on machines, equipment, or spare parts.
3. Strip brush lengths can be made to the requested size that can be transported.
4. Bristle lengths can range from 10mm up to 100mm depending on the intended applications and customer requirements.
5. Strip base widths include 3mm/4mm/5mm/6mm/7mm/8mm.
6. Brushes can be cut into straight lengths or manipulated in our factory to form a multitude of shapes and sizes for cleaning or sealing usages.
7. Synthetic fibers used on the flex strip brushes are from 0.1mm to 0.4mm
8. Custom aluminum holders/carriers are also available to suit this type of flexible strip brush seal considering an intended application.
